Description

The Metal element in TCM represents qualities of clarity, strength, and resilience. It is associated with the lungs, large intestine, grief, the autumn season, and the color white. Balancing the Metal element is crucial for maintaining physical and emotional well-being within the holistic framework of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

From an aromatherapeutic point of view based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the combination of specific essential oils, many of which we have included in ELEMENTALS Metal have been meticulously selected to support your Metal element:

Coriander: Coriander is warm, spicy, and slightly sweet. Coriander’s uplifting scent stimulates the lungs and promotes emotional balance, beneficial to the Metal element.

Cardamom: Cardamom is invigorating and promotes clarity and mental focus; qualities that align with Metal’s strong need for both.  It also provides warmth, promoting a greater sense of calm and mental flexibility.

Silver Birch is often associated with renewal and purification. In the context of the Metal element,  silver birch connects us with Metal’s relationship to Autumn, a time of release and transformation.

Casablanca Lily: The aroma of lilies is often associated with purity and renewal. In TCM, lilies are symbolic of letting go of what no longer serves us, aligning with the Metal element’s need of release and validation.

Tuberose is coveted for its calming, soothing and sensual properties.  It also has the power to alleviate emotional imbalances due to  grief and sadness – emotions held in the lungs and thus related to the Metal element.

Jasmine is renowned for its mood-lifting properties. It can be used to help uplift the spirits and alleviate stress, which resonates with the Metal element’s need for emotional balance.

Last but not least:  To harmonize the Metal element, TCM suggests practices such as breathing exercises, meditation, and activities that promote emotional expression and release, like journaling.  Consuming foods that are white or pungent in taste, such as radishes, garlic and onions, can also support your Metal element.
